    Canon IR2570CI Fax

    Good Morning,

I have a Canon IR2570CI Multifunction Device, i am trying to set the fax so that faxes can only be sent and not recieved. Does anybody have any ideas on how i would do this?

    Many thanks in advance

    Disabling the Fax Receive Capability

The way to disable a fax capable imageRUNNER from receiving incoming faxes, thus allowing it to only send faxes.

    Answer :
There is no distinct setting to disable incoming faxes on the device, however there is an effective workaround that will prevent the device from receiving faxes. If you set the ring response number to 99 no sending fax machine will wait through that number of rings in order to start transmitting. This will prevent the device from receiving incoming faxes. To set the ring response number to 99 follow the steps below:

    1. Enter Service mode by hitting Additional Functions then the 2 & 8 keys simultaneously and then Additional Functions once again.

    2. Select Fax

    3. Select NCU

    4. Select AutoRX

    5. Set the value '007' to 99 (by default this value is set to 2)

    6. Hit the reset button several times until you have exited service mode

    NOTE: For the 1023iF / 2016i / 2020i / 2018 / 2022 / 2025 / 2030 models the procedure is slightly different:

    1. Enter Service mode by hitting Additional Functions then the 2 & 8 keys individually and then Additional Functions once again.

    2. Scroll through menu item and select #NCU

    3. Scroll through menu item and select #Auto RX

    4. Scroll through menu item and select 007

    5. Set the value '007' to 99 (by default this value is set to 2)

    6. Hit the reset button several times until you have exited service mode

Another way is to set machine to Manual Receive, it will never pick up without user interaction.
