We get prints with randomly spaced horizontal lines the entire width of the page. The lines can vary in thickness from a very thin line, like the width of an ink-pen drawn line to about 1/2" wide. The lines are solid and black with sharp edges just as if you printed a document with lines on it. They are randomly spaced down the page, sometimes spread fairly evenly across the entire page, other times clustered in a section of the page. Have also seen a few times pages that are completely black. Usually re-seating the toner a few times and/or power cycling will correct the issue for hours or days before it returns. Sounds like a bad toner right? I've seen it frequently enough across multiple toners including genuine HP toners that I don't believe it is just bad toners. Not related to this issue, we had a firmware upgrade fail and we ended up replacing formatter. With that expense, I was hoping for a second opinion before doing anything else. Thank you |

This issues may be a toner cartridge grounding problem. Remove the left cover and clean the ground contacts.Comment
