    HP P4515 41.08 ERRORS

    Hi
    Last 3 errors are 41.08 I did test run with 50 self prints from tray2.Machine would print 6 or 7 prints ,then stop and cycle for a while,thenprinting another 10-15 prints,stop and cycle again and finish the remainde of the 50 test prints.first time I ran in print test page mode,I got a 41.08 code.
    Any ideas? Thanks Andy

    firmware and fuser are the most common issue. dont forget to remove any options when upgrading F/W

      Yup, upgrade the firmware. Run print test again, if fails again, the correct error will show. Most likely the fuser is failing.

        Recommended Action
        • If only one 41.8 error is reported turn the power off and back on.
        • If multiple 41.8 errors exists on the eventlog, replace fuser.
        • If issue reappear after restart, replace the fusing assembly.

          I replaced the fuser unit today and symptoms are different.Before I replaced fuser,in test print mode printing 50 copies the machine would print in stages,maybe 7 copies stop and cycle,another 20 and stop and cycle,another 1 stop and cycle for 3 minutes and then finish the 50.I also had consecutive 48.01 codes,3 ,or 4 in a row.After replacing fuser I can run test print cycle and everything prints as it is supposed to be.But as soon as I connect the network the machine keeps say processing and dosnt do anything else.If I press cancel job it remains in cancel mode until I unplug network and turn on off again.Then it is ok. Any help appreciated

            Usually, something like this , i would first use my laptop with a crossover cable and see if the problem still exist. eliminate cust network for now. if problem still exits, do a cold reset and check again. Is it an oem fuser or aftermarket ?. Aftermarket can cause problem when inferior parts are used.
            This, as i understand is caused by the fuser not warming up enough and the machine has to wait untill the rated temp is acheived before continuing.

            You did not mention if you upgrade the firmware as the other guys mentioned. WITH HP firmware updates are a must. when you download a firmware file and you expand it, look at the text file and count the fixes that has been done. I know with this model, many are hesitant to update the firmware, but you can go to hp website and see the proper procedure, or as slacker mentioned , to remove the options before upgrade

              Probably you still have a fuser/firmware problem. The firmware actually fixes fuser problems on this machine.

              But you might also have a bloated job sitting on the customer's queue. Make sure to clear that, and make sure no one has a job sitting at their desk. I once had this problem because someone had a 2 gig job they were trying to send. Although that was an older machine.

                So, what you are saying is that every time you plug in the network cable the printer keeps showing "processing"? Did you meant to say processing job? When power on does it show ready and then the processing message shows up? How long did you let the processing message on for? and when cancel job, how long did leave it on? Try cancelling all print jobs in the queue, every computers.

                    For what it is worth, that sounds like there is a job in the print queue that the printer or the print driver can't understand (although that is usually indicated by a 49.xx error code from what I've seen, so I'm not sure).
                    See if the local IT people can clear the print queue and see if the machine works better then.
