HP Color Laserjet CM3530 ADF pickup roller normally fails to lower

I think I had this issue since I bought my HP CM3530 in used condition, it never bothered me that much as I rarely use the ADF but was wondering if there's an easy fix. The problem is the pickup roller will most often not lower as it should so I get paper pickup errors when trying to do ADF scans. Is there an easy fix for this like a gear that may need lubrication or something?
