    4200 throwing 13.06.00/13.98.00

Hey all, I'm stumped and need some assistance!

    Event Log: EventLog.pdf

I've gone through a ton of forums and found similar issues, but haven't found anything like this one:

When printing, it's throwing the jam 13.06.00, then immediately throwing 13.98.00 afterwards. There is no paper in the paper path, because it stops pulling paper even though the job is not finished. It pushes the last paper so that the leading edge is two inches out of the exit section, so that you have to pull it out of the fuser.

When testing, we found that it works like a dream from tray 2. That's why you may see 150 pages between a jam. Otherwise you will see that we are receiving this jam anywhere from 2 pages to about 30 pages coming from tray 3.

So far we have replaced the fuser and the paper feed belts (not the entire assembly).

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I wonder if the tray 3 solenoid being stuck could hold the paper back and mess up the printer's notion of the paper's size. Anyway, I would just replace the entire tray 3 assembly--the whole thing, not just the paper tray. It's not a whole lot more expensive than replacing the fuser.

You're having problem with the tray 3 paper feed solenoid that is sticking. Replace the worn out pad on the solenoid.

I have to apologize in that the video was not for 4200 which does not have the foam they are referring to in the video. But, i would look at the flag anyway and check to see if it is sitting properyly and lube the pivoting point to ensure the flag is moving smoothly. In the past when i had reparied those machine and reassemble, the top cover, i would have to go back and reinstall it as it catches the flag assy and hindered its movement freely.
Also check the swing plate assy gears are not worn, not only the black gear, but the white one behind the black gear.
