It means the service station isn't moving. Can be from too much old ink. Replace the service station.

could be something(paper debris)stuck in the service station Take off the right end cap so you can look at it while it's moving. Usually the service station is all gunked up and needs to be replaced. THIS IS IMPORTANT> If you look on the bottom of the service station and you see the fan (typical 3"X3"fan)then you might as well stop there. Any machine that still has a fan Must have the firmware updated to use the new style service station. NO FAN. The problem is the machine has to come ready one more time before you can download the new firmware successfully. If you change to the new service station with old firmware it will always code out. it'll never be right. But if you see no fan then replace the service station ---chances are it's just screwed up. Turn the white gear on the side of the service station by hand and check for debris first. GOOD LUCK

If it is all gunked up, you can take it off, pull the motor off, and spend an hour or two cleaning it. You gotta find a nice big wash tub, ink will get everywhere and will stain things... Take it all apart, cleaning each little piece as you go.

Don't waste your time cleaning it, its a cheap part just replace it and if it has a fan then just transfer the old one to the new part. no need to update FW unless there is a problem

If you have a fan that old, you're just waiting for it to go bad... another call, possibly a callback. Personally, I would update the firmware.
