    [Jamming] HP CM4730

Hi all. I've got a Hp CM4730 that jams at the delivery assembly. Most of the time the leading jammed page is through the fuser just at the delivery and other times the lead page goes all the way through fuser and z-folds as page two comes through fuser. Error code is 13.31 every time. It happens from all 4 drawers and bypass tray. I can get 6-15 pages before jam occurs. I replaced the fuser on an unrelated issue prior to all of this. I did replace the delivery assembly (Fuser drive motor is part of the assembly), I tried a different ETB (transfer belt), and removed the toner shutters from all toners. I removed the finisher and ran an Engine test. This runs good as long as you hold button but throws a 13.06 code when stopped. Also notable, the Engine test only put black lines on pages, not any color lines. Componants test works well. Without finisher I noticed that when jam occurs, the paper "stutters" or "drags" slightly and a faint noise is heard, like a gear missed. Tech support is spitballing suggesting Low Voltage power supply, High Voltage power supply, DC Controller or paper feed assembly could be at fault.
Sorry it's so lengthy. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Looks like the fuser drive and the delivery drive is two separate motors on these. Your problem is probably somewhere in there--in the delivery drive. Either a sensor, the drive unit itself (motor or gears), or the dc controller. Also, go to the DC controller and unplug and replug all the wires.

Thanks theengel. They are bringing it to the shop and I'll try your idea there. From all the diagrams and pictures I can find, it looks like the Fuser Drive is attached to the delivery assembly. The instructions take you right there to it. But I didn't want to dismantle it again onsite. Thank you again.

I would check that fuser assembly you replaced since problems started occurring after replacement. Is the fuser a new OEM or a remanufactured? Try turning the fuser gears manually and feel for bind or broken gear.

Yeah, it looks like the fuser drive assembly has a motor for the fuser and a motor for the delivery assembly. Of course, it could be the delivery assembly itself, or something in there.

Thanks Printerdude. Actually was jamming prior to fuser replacement, but original fuser was tearing, so it got replaced. I thought it would fix both issues. Sorry for confusion.
