i assume the prints are fine when you run a diagnostic page? If so your best bet would be to give the mirrors a clean under the platen (if you know how to access this) to restore the quality from scanning

You might also check and make sure the white plates are super clean.

run the scanner calibration. look at the user manual for the proper sequence.

The scans are really faded and the blacks are very
          faded. Images are very blurry
"dirty". The prints seem to come somewhat blurry
as well but not bad like the scans. I checked the scan quality and even emailing files in pdf have the same issues. I like tried cleaning like suggest and running calibration with no success

Can you attach one of the scans?

Is this the entire page?? Try printing out the diagnostics sheet and scanning that.

First you have to determine that the machine printer quality is working correctly before addressing the scanner issues. The control panel menus has extensive test items to determine colour quality and also adjustments that can be made. example below.

                  Print Quality menu
                  Administration > Print Quality

I would start by setting the machine colour default to monochrome and determine if the black dev/drum is printing good. then you can move on the the colour.

Also stop the print before it reaches the fuser to determine the fuser is not the cause. check the fuser mode.

                  Did you do the

Set Registration Test Page Print Shift the margin alignment to center the image on the
page from top to bottom and from left to right. You can
also align the image on the front with the image printed
                  on the back.
Print a test page for setting the registration.

There are lots of test you can run. go through the menus and play with them. e.g colour band test, print test page .
If all fails you can do a factory reset.

did you update the firmware ?. after that, run the scanner calibration again. replace the drums that are almost done. looks like there is cyan background. put the machine in monochrome mode and print that supplies page again and see how it looks. If your scan to pc is blurry, then you have issues in the scanner unit. glass cleaning and calibration should take care of that i would think.

These don't look blurry to me. They're a little light. Take the glass off and clean the white plate on the under side of the glass. Also, clean the white plate on the ADF where the paper moves through at the glass. Finally, run the scanner calibration. If there's no change, I'd say you'll have to replace the scanner lamp. I think this is the part number: Q3938-67901
