hp 4700, no colors even on internal prints.

Weather it comes from the computer or internal prints, it is all b&w. Engine test comes out the same, no color. I swapped the cartridges and the colors will print from the black slot. I checked the shutters and they seem to be opening. Using only OEM cartridges. My tech support was stumped and could only recommend reseating cables. Has anyone else had this as an issue?

I have had this problem before and the fix was to replace the formatter board. Unfortunately a more expensive part but you may be able to pick a second user one up at a good price.

That is it exactly. Including the stripes. Thanks so much. My tunnel vision had me stuck on the HV. Plus it makes sense. I was trying to understand how I lost 3 colors at once.
