HP 9250 digital sender, can't see it's HD

This digital sender was brought in and I was told it did not work, customer did not know why. I found that the Hard drive in the machine was not plugged in. I think the customer may have swapped it out before bringing it to me. The HD test OK and we formatted it, but when installed in the machine, the machine says it cannot send or recieve because a drive is missing. Is there something I have to do to the HP to make it see the HD?

    HP 9250 digital sender,

I'm not going to be much help I'm afraid. I dont have any experience with this machine. It it was strictly a printer and I had this problem I would perform hard disk initialization (whether formatted or not), perform cold reset with all optional devices removed, and upgrade firmware. Whether you can do that on that machine, I have no idea.

Since its not a printer, I would suggest obtaining a service manual as a first step. Please post the fix, cause I'd like to know and I got a feeling we're going to run into this again.

I am looking to get a manual. One of the issues I have is that in the past when I have put a hard disc in an HP I have been prompted by the machine to initalize the disc, or have been able to find it in the menue. No such luck here. And you are correct about seeing the problem again, HP makes a lot of money on these and is no help in getting them fixed.
When these machines have issues, they really have issues.

Just as an update- I obtained a manual, it was no help. My plan is to replace the main board that the HD plugs into. Waiting for customer approval.
