[Misc] Officejet X585 MFP printhead dropout

I have a X585 MFP with the left side of the page missing a strip of Magenta output the entire length of the page.

Have cleaned multiple times and ran the printhead recovery too many times to count. I am assuming the printbar is probably done for?

you can try soaking a paper towel in Simple Green.. ( leave in contacted for about 30-1hr ... then run a head cleaning on it

      I had a similar issue.
Was going to replace the printbar, it was an inshop repair.so, i ran 30 to 40 cleaning, print came back perfect, i need new ink but its perfect, just time and ink,,, you can fix...

30-40 cleanings is a lot..esp when you consider every time an HP printhead gets ready to print it heat the metal grid (ports) up to create the bubble.
Heating and Cooling of and metal substrate will weaken it.. causing failures.
        Printheads are costly.
        That much ink is costly..
Not to mention the ink absorbent pads will be pretty full now.

Simple Green is just that a 'green' cleaning liquid.
I've found to be real good breaking up ink..
will not damage Rubber or plastic.
cheaper than running tons of ink thru it.

Which simple green product are you using, there seems to be many types of their cleaner.

                  my pleasure!

have used it on "cold" n "hot" tech inkjet desktop n wide format
                  it also works on standard/ricoh/riso/duplo

                  also works on OLD mimeograph

                  clean covers/rollers

cuts down on a lot of time
                  really great product!
