hi, how many copies are made with this hp2600. Did you try clear laser glass behind tonercartridge? did you stop paper before fuser and is hte problem in print section or in fuser section? are the new cartridges new or recharged??

    try this and write again!

    success!

If the print fades from one side to another, the problem could be in the rack that holds the cartridges. they have to tilt forward to make contact. If the problem is in the rack , it is not worth repair. I have seen many of the old 2500's used as door stops for that very reason.

if the magenta is lighter then yelow your problem is from the laser. as far as y remember the magenta is the first cartridge, from down to up, then is the Y, C, and K. all you need to doo is to disasembli the printer and clean the laser for dust. it is a comon problem for this series (16xx, 26xx, 3500, 3700). if you need the service manual just send me a email adress

you welcome, and do not forget to clean alsoo the entire printer for dust and waste toner. And alsoo don't forget to clean the poligonal mirors of the laser, and one more thing, DO NOT USE ALCOOL OR ANI OTHER SOLVENT TO CLEAN YOUR LASER. It will do a lot of damage to the optics in the laser. I personaly use coton buds, the ones used to clen the ears. And take care not to modifi the pozition of ani mirors, or lens.

Good luck, and let us now if the problem iti is solved.
