    HP 4250/Changing Print Quality

    HI.
I went to machine on Fri,customer complaining about copies being to light. The density looks pretty solid and black,I think the image on letters could be bolder. What can I do to adjust image boldness?
    Thanks, Andy

I am assuming that you have tried another toner cartridge, or you are convinced the one in the machine is OK?
Go to the print quality menu and adjust print density.

I would try another cartridge to see. If that is not the problem, check the transfer roller. How many prints are on it? Transfer ever been changed? Also, The print head lens can collect a thin layer of dust over the years.

            Gidday,
pop the RHS rear access cover off, remove 4 screws from top cover (2 at rear inside rear door, 2 at to front under toner access cover / top door). Disconnect the white cartridge drive actuator lever near the RHS hinge of the top door. Lift the top cover off and unplug the cable to the control panel. There is the laser scanner right underneath.

most of the time it is dirty laser scanner. you're on the right track if you clean that. dont use chemicals. use compressed air or swab it. Additionally, make sure the printer is not in "economode"
