Re: HP Color LaserJet CM3530: No label printing from tray 2?
You are correct in this model the angles don't make the mp tray the best option. I would just choose heavy stock for tray 2 and print away. The glue from the labels will build up in the paper path so some cleaning may be needed to keep the guides clean.

Re: HP Color LaserJet CM3530: No label printing from tray 2?
labels should always be fed thru the MP fold down tray .. straight thru .. open the back exit door. Check your user guide for proper orientation.
the reason is the labels making the curve up from tray 2+3 can cause them to peel off the sheet and get stuck in the paper path.
Paper from Tray 1 (fold out MP tray) turns "outward" at about a 135 degree turn as it goes down at a 45 degree angle and then almost a 180 degree turn straight up and in the direction that could peel labels.
Paper from Tray 2 turns "inward" and only 90 degrees in the direction that should help keep the labels stuck on the sheet.Leave a comment:

Re: HP Color LaserJet CM3530: No label printing from tray 2?
For some reason just after my printer broke (which I've finally fixed) I realized I should put label sheets in Tray 2 as I don't really use it and I print lots of labels for products I sell and always load them in the multipurpose tray 1 so I open and close that tray very frequently.
However when I got to setting the paper type in Tray 2 I saw there's no label option, is there any reason it would be bad or did they just not imagine anyone loading a main tray with label sheets? I thought maybe the paper path curves too much and could peel the labels inside, but multipurpose tray 1 seems to be the path with the most curved paper path and in the direction that could peel the labels, but I don't remember it ever happening despite several thousand label sheets ran through it.
Would it be bad to print labels from Tray 2 anyway and just tell it it's a thicker paper? If so what paper type should I choose for best performance (not speed, but toner adhesion) on labels?
This would avoid me having to open Tray 1 and load it manually several times per week.
Thanks
