Print Quality & Tray 1 Issues on CP5225n

Hello all... I have a frustrating situation. I bought a used CP5225n recently for cheap which, to me, looks brand new—like ZERO signs of use or wear. 100% in all HP toners, empty waste toner container, no dust at all on the inside (yes, I've already opened a few doors). Only thing missing was the fuser unit, which I bought directly from HP. Plugged her in (no extension cord) and printed out the demo page and supplies list (with new paper) — which both came out very light/faded with a huge blank areas (see IMG_4520.jpg below). Problem #1.

Here's a few more diagnostic pages I printed out to show it better:

I tried printing a cleaning page to hopefully fix the print quality issue, which gave me Problem #2.
To print the cleaning page, the CP5225 tells me to put paper in Tray 1 (the manual feed tray), which then acknowledges I did, but when I click "OK" to continue the process, the roller doesn't pickup the sheet of paper. I hear clicking sounds, but no movement at all of the roller or the separation pad, and then I get a Tray 1 paper jam error. I've taken a really good look at the paper path and don't see any bits of paper at all. Solenoid issue? IDK. Tray 2 prints with no issues, but I've read somewhere that I can't force the printer to use Tray 2 instead of Tray 1 so I'm stuck.

That all being said, what's your first instinct when it comes to the print quality issue? Could this be just a matter of printing the cleaning page, which I can't do?

Do you think I should clean the scanner assembly, even though it looks perfectly clean on the outside?

I'm much more interested in fixing the print quality issue rather than Tray 1...

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.
