HP M608x with a very dim / dark suer screen

Hello,

I have an HP M608x with a very dim / dark user screen. I have tried a system restore to factory new, new formatter, new 608dn formatter, new screen and a new dc controller, all with the same result. I have also adjusted the screen settings to the brightest.

The only thing I haven't replaced yet is the LVPS.

I'm racking my brain on this one.

Has anyone else experienced this?

So, after further testing, it seems the formatter was replaced by a previous tech. They used a non M608x unit (standard 608n board). This will cause the 608x control screen to not function right.

What's the product number of the machine. This is usually found at the back of the machine e.g K0Q18A


To find the correct parts and to see which parts can work with what model, you can go to HP PARTS SURFER website and type in that product number and it will show the parts .... The different sub model can be seen by typing in the the model number of the machine e.g 608x and it will show all the different model names that are listed. You then have to do some searching to find which model uses which parts by the part numbers listed. e.g as below
