HP M604 jam as paper fed to reg roller 13.20 paper jam check tray 2

I believe this is the sensor (PS102?) that's difficult to get to at front of printer between paper cassette and first set of feed rollers? All I've ever done for customer is push a card stock up thru there once to remove ripped piece of paper. Now they say it jams there all the time. Assume dirty due to warehouse environment. Any suggestion how to access easily to clean sensor since I can't find the sensor available to purchase and was informed I had to replace the "transfer guide assembly" instead which doesn't make any sense nor can I even locate that part on diagrams. Not HP but have played around with them as side gig for 34 years. Thanks

There are a couple metal flaps, you can see them when you take out the toner, they are right above where you were pushing that cardstock thru. smart move by the way. any way lift the flat closest to you, you need a flashlight by the way. under the flap a little left of center straight down where that card would have come up thru you'll be able to see the tip of the switch ----- that's where you take your canned air and blow away what still be causing your problem. I you see any paper when your looking down there, use a piece of manila folder and push it up from the bottom.

if the switch actually still needs to be replaced could be broken or knocked loose ( would have to come apart). Only helped you because you were helping someone else

I haven't done this with a 604, but many times with a 4250. Take the tray 1 assembly off to get to that feed roller assembly behind it. You said dirty environment, so those rollers could be slick and dirty. clean them with rubber rejuvenator and blow out the sensor area. Also I have seen those rollers migrate on the shaft causing problems. Look to see if a roller is being carved by a paper guide.
