    HP M428FDN/FDW no network connectivity

I have run into a handful of these M428's that will not connect to the network, will not detect that the ethernet cable is plugged in. Is this a known problem with the Formatters? Which I cannot seem to find any of these in stock anywhere. I have four of these machines in my shop with the same issue. Already performed firmware updates via the usb connection, with no luck.

Hi if I remember correctly try this.

    Press the home>back>home>home>back

It should bring you to engineering and manufacturing mode see if there is anything to do with on board jet direct or ethernet port disable.

It you do the back key 5 times you will enter support menu.

And if you do back home home back you will see enable/disable menu check to see there for anything todo with network or wireless disabled.

    Hope this helps.

      Hi,
You can try changing the network link speed.
If in Auto, change to 100full or semi.
We had a few hp printers that failed to establish the speed properly.
      Hope that helps you.

Thanks for the tip. Currently have two machines in for service for this issue, this method solved it for one out of the two machines.
