HP Laserjet II / Apple Laserwriter II Help

New Apple Laserwriter II I am trying to resuurect.
As you know the Apple is a Canon SX engine, same as the HP laserjet II

The printer is back to life,
Replaced Ac power block, replaced DC Power supply,
    New take up roller.

Printer fires up very nicely, no errors,
attempts to pull in a sheet of paper (either from cassette or single page feed)
and it stops at the location shown in picture, stops and gives me a paper jam error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

UPDATE: If I leave the paper queued as it is in the pic, then turn the printer off and on again, it will occasionally pull that page through with a test print.

    Not always

The paper pickup roller you replace is bad or installed wrong.
Only a Genuine HP/Canon rollers works best, aftermarket rollers are crap.

      Yep seems you are right,

I have another roller assembly that I used to use with rubber bands tacked on it and it works fine.

Does HP still sell these pickup rollers?

HP stop selling these rollers in the 90's.

You might find someone selling a new old stock complete roller assembly part # RG1-0931-060. Just make sure it's not a aftermarket product because they will not work.
