Do these laser printers need to stay running?

Hi, I have the following printers. I wanted to know if leaving them in one place, still, without using them, could damage some parts. Do these laser printers need to stay running? Can they be left unused? how long before they spoil?

    Brother HL-L2310D
    Brother HL-L5000D
    Samsung ML-3310ND
    HP Laser 107w
    HP LaserJet P1005
    Brother HL-L2340DW
    Lexmark MB2338adw

Unfortunately I can't sell them because they aren't mine. I would like to sensitize the administration so that they are at least donated to a non-profit organization. But I need technical warning that the printers won't work anymore if you don't intend to use them for a long time.

You could probably store them and remove the toner depending on how long they would be unused.

Or donate to local charity or goodwill etc...

Got something right for a change. The biggest problem with laser printers in storage is the toner settling and clumping. Development unit also can have problems with toner separation form the carrier. Very low temperatures, below freezing can destroy toner and developer is a matter of days

Good evening, since I'm not very familiar with some technical terms, I ask please if it's possible to explain to me what toner settling and clumping means.

In order to flow easily from the bottle to the developer, most laser toner is 30 to 50 % trapped air. If it sets for extended length of time, months, the air is gradually lost. Shaking will help but if it goes to long toner clods will occur.

Thanks for the reply. Does this happen to the toner, even when the cartridge is still packed?

and instead if the printer rests without a cartridge inside, won't you run into problems?
