Check the swing plate assy. gears and check the fuser latch on the left side for any braking or cracks.

      HP4350 noise

Remove fuser and inspect fuser drive gear (largest gear) and Swing Plate Assembly (SPA) gear for damage.
If spring tension is present and no damage to gears of either assembly, reseat fuser.
If no spring tension is present, spring is missing, broken or detached. Detached, reattach spring. Missing/broken replace entire Swing Plate Assembly part number RM1-0043.
If gears are damaged (SPA only) use a swing plate kit.
If fuser gear is damaged replace fuser gear and swing plate kit.

Many companies sell swing plate gears and fuser gears.

          HP4350 noise

4350's are a little more noisy than prior printers, but there are several things that may cause excess noise. It's a gear noise? or is it thumping or banging noise? If its gear noise in the cartridge area you might have a bad main drive gear asm. (I assume you tried changing the cartridge already.) If its banging noise or from the tray area it may be a problem with the tray, lift asm or the p/u gear drive asm. There is a bushing on one of the p/u drive gears that sometimes gets broken or out of position or the retaining clip comes off. Usually this problem occurs with more than 400 sheets of paper in the tray and usually on the 4200/4300. Kind of unlikely on the 4250/4350 as the paper tray has been redesigned by HP, but I thought I'd mention it to help give you a direction to begin troubleshooting in. Watch the tray lift paper from the back, does the problem occur during lift? If not, it will have nothing to do with the lift drive or the tray mechanics that work with it. Then watch it pickup and feed. Try to see where the sound begins. Does the sound occur during warm-up when no paper is being fed? If so it is likely the main drive as that turns during warm-up. I hope this helps you nail down your problem. Please let us know what you find. Likely one of us will have this problem in the future.
