how do I reset a maint light on a hp4100, it not the same as a 4000?

press and hold down left side of the \"item\" and \"value+\" buttons while turning printer on. release buttons when \"reset maint. count\" appears in display.
to verify it has been reset, press \"menu\" until \"information menu\" appears. press \"item\" until \"print configuration\" appears, then press \"select\" to print \"config. page\".

I have followed instructions as I understand them but can not get this to work.
Perhaps misunderstanding what buttons are \"item\" and \"value\" placement.
This is HP4100mfp series. Tried top, bottom, left and right to the select

just remove the misformed html tags to read the text:
