    HP M551

Have a customer with a PQ issue with an M551. I'll include a close up print sample.
Tried a couple sets of known good toners and a Xfer belt from another one of their machines. Ran full calibration each time we changed those and after again. Still prints like this. It's like it's calibrating wrong or something, anyone seen this before or have an idea?

click on below to enlarge, you can see yellow and blue are 'off' from black

Open the printer’s toner access door. Press the engine test button (its location varies by printer, check service manual for exact location) for five to ten seconds. Release the engine test button then close the toner access door. If the printer does not automatically begin calibrating, perform a full calibration using the control panel. If that doesn't fix it replace the DC Controller.

I've done the full calibration a few times, is there some reason doing it via the engine test would be different?

DC controller, that is something I hadn't thought of, that would be nice if that was it, I will get one and try it

From my understanding it resets the color registration on the DC Controller as if it's brand new. I'd try that first but have the replacement DC Controller handy.

I have had one bad toner cause a diffrent toner to be misaligned. It's usually the toner misaligned that's issue, but bad cyan may cause magenta yellow or black to become misaligned. I usually replace the new toner that was just changed if that's when problems started. Transferbelt DC controller can be issue to.
