I assume you mean the "52 Scanner Error" error code. (Most machines have more than one error or similar errors. Always try to give the entire error message displayed.) The things you need to check are:
- Turn power off for 1 minute and back on to see if it resets
- Check the flat cables are connected to the scanner and the formatter. Make sure you dont have a loose connection. Reseat it whether it is connected or not.
- Connect to a different outlet. Make sure you are not connected to a surge protector. Power problems can cause this issue.
- Replace the laser scanner

There is no more scanner avalaible at HP for 3330 - 3380
