    HP CLJ 9500 MFP Blank Touchscreen Display

    Hi all. Working on a HP CLJ9500MFP (the one with the touchscreen).
    Fault is, all three lights on the left hand side light up, but the display is blank. Just stays at this state and does not change.
    Customer reports it was coming up with different error codes, but cannot recall what any of them were.

    What I have done -
    Checked display brightness knob.
    Reseated all cables on control panel/touchscreen.
    Reseated all cables to DC Controller and replaced DC controller.
    Removed jetdirect card and hdd.
    Tested with new DRAM.
    Moved Control Panel EIO card from slot 2 to 1 and tested.
    Swapped memory from Control Panel EIO card with formatter memory

    Still no luck.

    Hoping someone has come across this before.

      I have not encountered this, but before I read what you did, I was guessing the formatter, and that is the one thing you did not change.

          Does this unit have a network card? If so, power down and remove it. Power back up and see if problem goes away.

          Oh...one other thing some of the other MFP's that have the touchscreen power their displays from the scanner power supply. Check to see if that is the case with this machine (I dont have a manual for the MFP version and I dont think the standard version has the touch screen) The see if you can get it to copy or if the ADF lamps are coming on. You obviously are getting some power or you wouldn't even get it to light up.

              Thanks for the comments.

              I have now replaced the touch panel/control panel and still no luck.

              So where the machine is at, has new touch panel and dc controller.

              The touch panels has one cable going directly to the DC controller and the DC controller connects into the Formatter.

              I am hoping the formatter, but does anyone have experience with these machines with this fault?

                  I ran into this yesterday and checked and tested the same and still nothing. I was just wondering if you found out the problem? My guess is that its the formater.

                          I work on these and have not come across this problem before. After reading everything, I would have to suspect the formatter also at this point.
