Color Laserjet 4600 frozen

Customer has a Color Laserjet 4600N that freezes during calibration. Will not completely go to ready. It did this for me about a week and a half ago and I did a cold reset on it already. That took care of it for the week and a half. Now what Im wondering am I going to have to replace a DIMM or formatter or what because obviously there is still an issue. Any help appreciated. Thanks,

Color Laserjet 4600 frozen

hmm...haven't had this problem on 4600's before. Try the following:

1) Remove all optional equipment (especially Jet Direct or Hard Drive) and power up machine. If it comes up, install optional equipment one at a time until it fails and that part will be the culprit.

2) reseat all cartridges and try a different transfer belt
3) see if it will pass an engine test
