HP P3005x Jammin in tray 1

I haven't actually seen the machine do it of course but the customer says the page comes a little out of the tray and says jam.

I cleaned the feed tires, but they don't seem worn at all. The meter is 44K.

I have cleaned the tires twice and it works fine for a couple days.

I don't know this machine at all. I don't want to order the feed kit if it is something else causing it.

    Thanks

Try to duplicate the problem, because you don't know if there is an obstruction, if it's multi-feeding or if it is the p/u solenoid.

My first guess would be a MP tray roller and separation pad (hint: don't try to take the whole sep. holder out when changing this pad because you'll break it, just replace the little sep. pad insert.) If the paper is late getting to the sensor it could be the roller/pad combo. I always change these together too. MP tray rollers for this unit are easier to replace than tray 2 rollers and the service manual instructions for replacing the tray 2 roller is wrong. Make sure you blow out all the sensors really good and check the flags/springs. Hope this helps.

    Here are the part numbers:

    (1) RC1-0939, TRAY 1 SEP
    (1) RL1-0568, TRAY 1 FEED ROLL
    (1) RL1-1370, TRAY 2 ROLLER
    (1) RM1-3738 , TRAY 2 SEP PAD

We sell these all in one kit.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".
