The Black print will not register. On a Configuration page The black is reduced inward, and when calibating it will never line up correctly. Sometimes the colors will not line up but after several calibrations they will but the black never will. Has latest firmware OEM cart. have removed laser and cleaned, and cleaned the two sensors at the top of the transfer belt. Only has 2,600 prints. Any ideas, last codes were 54.1000, currently no codes. Thanks

the 54.10 code is the ,,Color plane registration sensor(s) error'' . So i sugest you replace the two sensor's you mentioned you cleaned. Do you use OEM cartridges?? Did you cleaned the transfer belt?? It could have calibrating isues if the transfer belt is dirty, since it maces the toner density calibration on the transfer belt.
If you need the service manual for this machine just P.M. whit you email adres
P.S. Sory for the bad english -
Last resort it is a DC controller issue as the sensor data is compared there. I agree with cosmin_mocanu, clean sensor in transfer belt, make sure transfer belt is seated properly as this is the connection to the DC controller, replace transfer belt, check connector to DC Controller, or DC controller, in that order of troubleshooting. Pick cheap things first cause too much time & money thrown at that machine is not worth it.
Special note: Dirty scanner lenses are a big problem with this small machine. If any of the colors look faded, remove the laser scanner and clean holding the scanner, 4-in-1 type, up to the light to make sure you get everything. 90% of the image problems I've seen on this machine have been solved with this technique and best thing is, no parts are required, but it's really fun to do. (Removal of formatter, dc controller, rear frame, 4 screws required. 2 of those screws will be at the bottom of the machine, sometimes obscured by metal leaf springs).Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".Comment

Error message 54.1000
I have a HP 2605dn laser printer, just over 1 year old. The print quality is now very poor, and I keep getting the 54.1000 error message. I have tried cleaning the sensors behind the roller with very limited success, what should I try next?? RogerComment
