    Hp 4250/ envelope feeder

    HI,
    I just brought a new hpQ2438B envelope feeder for a HP 4250 and I get the message "BAD ENVELOPE FEEDER CONNECTION" at installation. Could you please tell me if I have right feeder for customers model?.

              There are 2 versions. An earlier version (4200/4300) will not work on the 4250. The vendor you purchased it from should have tested it to determine which one they have sold you. Either they need to sell it under an A & B part number or they need to sell only the later version (which works on all 42xx/43xx machines). They would be responsible for what they sold you and should be willing to exchange it out for you or give you your money back.

                      Try updating firmware on printer, my 4250 didnt work with a feeder from a 4200 but then it did after the firmware update. Some say its the controler board in the printer, there are differnt versions of the printer and the envelope feeder, let me know if this helps...
