How to set serial number HP 2015

I have a bunch of these things and it seems the formater fails a lot. My problem is after replacement I have not figured out how to set the original serial number. I understand it has to be done with pjl commands, but I am not a real IT person and I don't know the steps to do this. I can map ports etc and have the file but the devil in the details is killing me. Any help is welcome.

After a couple hours of trial and error I got done. Hp is useless, you may as well call the first number in the phone book as I am sure you will get info faster that way.

Look up some older posts on this problem.
There is a fix for the formatter boards, I have fixed 3 printers by baking the formatter card for 8 mins at 350 degres f.
As for HP your are right. My dogs know more about printers.

My Boss did not want me to cook that formater, he has since changed his mind as we have had another fail. The no lead or low lead solder is a problem on a bunch of HP stuff including laptops. I will still need to be able to change the serial number because of the fleet management deals.

If these are network printers you might be able to do this thru the web interface.
This is just a thought I have not had to do this before.

Not on the 2015 or the 2727. I have done it through the interface on other models but HP decided not to add that function for these models.
Again, let me count the ways I hate HP......

I'm up to 2gig ways just this afternoon. Had a M2727 that does not know that it is a M2727. It thinks it is a HP Laserjet P @. At least that is what the config page says.

That's a new one, most of my 2727 trouble has been the going to "sleep" and never waking until power cycle.

Yeh and the Nvram reset would not work. Got to get a formatter.
