HP Color LaserJet 1500L funky printing issue

Hey everyone,

Ok, I'm stumped here. I am working on a HP Color LaserJet 1500L and if you tell it to print something in color that's one page like the Windows XP printer test page, It will print one just fine. then it will cycle thru and print another one that's all digitized and looks like it's straight up from the movie matrix! It does this even though it was only told to print one!

Any suggestions?

Does that machine have a self-test page function, that will print a demo page or config page from the engine? If so, does the second page appear when that is done?
Are you sure this is totally related to the engine? Whats the chance this could be either print spooler or cabling related, because I've seen similar issues before that was not being caused by the actual printer in the end.
From memory, HP boxes use formatter boards. Possibly bad formatter or memory?? Or connect to different PC and test from there as well.

Yeah it does it on the internal print as well.

This is formatter related. Try these steps.

Remove any optional parts.
Update firmware (download from HP website - this is free)
Replace formatter/memory or both
