never had luck with that crappy clj 2600 .... cleaning the laser is time expensive and probably won't fix your problem. if the machine is from a dusty environment that makes sense, otherwise ... i doubt it. i'd rather run the calilbration more often. reset to defaults might be worth a try. and last but not least check if the firmware is up to date.
      good luck

p.s.: do you have two colors misaligned horizontally and two misaligned vertically?

You already checked the ETB, which would have been the first cause and performed calibrations, which would be the second. 90% of image problems with the 26XX series machines are dirty laser scanner lenses as there are no shutters on the scanner. As regards cost effectiveness, it is 30-45 min and no parts to purchase. Make sure cartridges are good as well, since this can also cause the problem.

Other than that, DC controller or bent frame. But if you get to this step after doing all the other steps, you probably have gone over price of the machine.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

do you see any 54.xx or 101.00 errors on the event log. These deal with the color plane sensors. Also you can do a color plane adjust in the secondary service modes. also on some hp color printers you can delete the cpr values from the dc controller by opening the top cover then holding in the test print button for about 3 seconds, when you close the top cover the printer should go into calibrate mode.
