HP Laserjet 4050 "Unable to collate"

Anyone ever seen this error? It all started when they installed new computers (vista). Prints this page out when you try to print more than one 'copy' of a ANY document.Document.pdf

Sounds like a driver conflict to me. Update drivers and firmware.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

Ok, I swapped out the formatter and I didn't see a newer firmware version 19990309 MB6.28.. The customer had the machine hooked up via parallel port. I hooked it up with a 620 network card and it's still doing the same thing!! Any other suggestions please

Also tried a cold reset before the new formatter board

Can you print from the control panel without a problem?

Did you delete out the old drivers and install new ones? Collate is selected via the driver. It could even be a menu setting set wrong.

          Update the firmware too.

for the drivers and the firmware

I was speaking to someone at tech support with one of our distributors and they said its a vista/driver conflict with this older machine.. I'm trying different drivers now, I have never seen this before. Thanks for your help, will post results.

And yes I can print. The problem is: printing more than one is when error occurs

PCL 6 Universal driver fixed the problem. Thanks again
