    HP p3005x

a customer of mine has this printer that is freezing during boot up i went down and looked at it and decided it was the formatter board that was the problem since i have seen it a bunch of times.however they had another one of these printers in the building so i swapped the formatter from the machine that didnt work to the one that did work and the machine booted up just fine. im now thinking it could be a bad main pcb but i thought that i would run this by you all and see what you thought

Um...just one concern. Make sure when you're moving formatters you don't put one from a basic P3005n into a P3005x machine or you will erase the duplex function. Make sure they both duplex and network before you try it. It would be good if you could as it would eliminate the bad board issue if the known good board didn't work in the x machine. Is it giving you any kind of error at all? Did you try the same memory DIMM from the x machine or did you use the one that was in the other machine? Because you could have a defective memory DIMM. You could try and NVRAM reset, but just remember you will need network info again to set it up afterwards, in addition to serial number and page count.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

I have an issue with a faulty formatter board on a TROY Secure MICR 3005 with a "Replace DIMM 0" error. The formatter board was replaced and works without the TROY USB key installed but gives a series of errors with the TROY key as follows:

        TROY INTERNAL RELIANCE MONITOR
        Invalid keylock start e
        PfmDim Troy keylock
        Pfm sense keyGen fn
        SecMod Event
        Finter User Initialize
        IoFinItfnV

        and then keeps repeating.

What can I do to fix this error? or is the replaced formatter also faulty?

OOps. I have fixed the problem.

I wrongly placed the Keylock Sensor wire in the wrong jumper. It should have gone in the jumper on the bottom of the card. The MICR Toner Sensor wire then goes into the jumper on the side of the card.
