[Misc] HP LaserJet Color 4700 yellow prints have 1 band of white through them

    Hi,

I'm trying to work out why this 4700 has one band of white about 9mm wide right across the page (when i print a yellow page). It is definitely the Yellow toner affected.

the band is parallel to the long edges of the page.and starts about 55mm from the edge.

Any ideas what could be causing that and how I might fix it?

    Thanks,

    Jason

if you have a "void", you may have something blocking the laser from the yellow drum.

I know this is a dumb question, but did you replace the cartridge?

Yeah, obvious! Is any yellow printing? If the toner gets hung up, it will give you a line.
Swap toners in slots to see if it is the toner, and not the slot. If it is, replace the H/V

            Hi Prntrfxr,

Great suggestion. I swapped the yellow for another toner from another printer and it worked fine. So it is the toner. It is virtually brand new this toner. do you think its fixable or should I just get a new yellow toner?

            Thanks,

            Jason

I inspected the toner cartridge and there was a great big piece of fluff on it. I cleaned it off and tested again. It seems to be working fine now. Thanks all for your suggestions.
