    Problems with LJ 3005n

the machine doesn't fully boot it hangs and when it does I cannot access the control menu from the front. And When printing it needs to be power cycled to reset the print job, it prints then it fails to print. Any ideas what this might be? Thanks

Formatter board. I'm sure someone here can tell you how to put it in your oven to fix it or you can buy another one.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

Yes sounds like a formater board, possable firmware upgrade gone wrong! Cook in an oven @350 for 8 min or try a new board.

        Everyone's oven temp varies.

I would bake at about 370 deagrees for the 8 minutes. Make sure the oven is pre heated.

And I have repaired many formaters this way. You have cracked solder joints on the board and heating in the oven melts the solder . repairing the formater. You have nothing to loose.
