Laserjet 4600 top socket will not print cleanly

With the cartridge check disabled, I tested the black toner in another slot and it prints fine... but the top one still fails no matter what toner cartridge is in it.

IF I apply a lot pressure to the door- forcing it in as far as possible- while doing a test print I can get a little black to print in normal mode- the it's extremely poor quality- barely legible but enough to get a configuration page...where the last recorded error was 54.18. I have replaced the color registration sensor SP12 and the DC controller assuming that this was the problem. Still no improvement.

Note- the printer will give me a config page without pressure on the door... but absolutely no black toner at all. So all I get is a colored border no information.

Looking for help or direction on where to go next.

See attachments. Particularly the one in progress (even though its says for streaking, missing black or light black also applies).

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

The H/V charges the toners. Check the slots contacts, could be bent in too far.
      Replace the H/V
