Message explains itself... Firmware is corrupt, you need to reflash the firmware, it is available on the HP website with instructions on how to update the firmware along with the driver's etc goto support and search for your model.

If it fails to flash the firmware then the formatter has problems...

When you downlaod the firmware and open it, there is a readme file. It has all the instructions on how to do it and all the commands you need to type. If it fails to load, then the formatter is probably at fault.
