That's it. Nothing else. Just got this call and about to go to site but I haven't heard of this before on this machine. Anyone out there seen this before?

Re: HP 3530 color. Starts up and says initializing.
FYI...this is a CM3530 mfp. This is a relatively newer machine and I haven't had this particular problem with this machine, yet. However, it is probably the same as other HP models, so it would be handled in a similar way. Usually, this problem has to do with the formatter, firmware, Hard Drive, a jet direct network card, or an embedded jet direct. It should have an embedded network card If it does, bring a formatter with you and that will cover 2 of the 3. If it has an EIO Jet direct card, you will need to bring one of those with you as well.- When you get there, disconnect from the network and fax line. Turn off the machine, press and hold 6 while powering on. When all 3 LED's come on and stay on, release the 6 button (up to 20 sec). Use the 3 and 9 keys to navigate to Cold Reset and press the 6 key to initiate. If it goes to ready, you should be done. Sometimes too much data comes in at the same time or a fluctuation in power messes it up. This sometimes clears it up. If it doesn't go to ready, go to step 2.
- If the printer has an EIO jet direct card, turn the printer off, and remove the card. Turn the printer on and see if it goes to ready. If it does, replace the EIO jet direct. If it still will not go to ready or it has an embedded jet direct, go to step 3.
- Power down the printer, unplug it and remove the formatter board. Unplug the cables to the hard drive (there should be 2). Reinstall the formatter and power up the machine. Does it go to ready? If not, go to step 3. If it does, you know the problem is hard drive related. Power down the machine again, remove the formatter, and plug the hard drive cables back in. Reinstall the formatter, plug it in and perform a Hard Drive Initialization. The client will probably lose data, but they aren't able to print anyway. HD initialization is performed by powering on the printer, waiting until it begins to warm-up, press and hold the Start button until all the LED's are lit. Press the 5 key and Initialize Disks should appear in the display. Press the 6 key to begin HD initialization. If the printer still will not go to ready, replace the hard drive.
- Perform and NVRAM init. This resets the serial number, event log, page counts, calibration settings, and network settings. To perform this: turn the printer off, press and hold 9 while powering up until all three LED's light and stay on (up to 20 sec). Release the 9 key, press 3, and then press Start. Use 3 and 9 buttons to navigate to NVRAM Init and press 6 to start initialization. If the machine still does not go to ready, go to step 4.
- Replace the formatter board. Update firmware as needed.

Re: HP 3530 color. Starts up and says initializing.
Thank you very much. Turned out they gave me the wrong model. Was a 5550. Reset and everything was fine. The information you gave me was great and I am keeping it for future reference. I only have a couple of the 3530's in the field but i like to be prepared. Used to do HP all the time but have been primarily a Kyocera rep for the last seven years or so. No practice on the newer HP's. Thanks again.Comment

That's OK. Honestly, I've never worked on a Kyocera.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".Comment
