    laserjet m9040

Hello i've got a duplex problem on a m9040. it calls a 13.11 code and paper is stopped in the duplexer. I have swapped the duplexer and still no go. Does anyone have a paperpath diagram for this machine showing the duplexer paper feed in/out? the manual is very sketchy.

    Thanks

There isn't a paper path diagram (usually is for every other machine). I do have a few questions:

    1. Where is the page stopping in the duplex unit? Leading edge? Trailing edge?

You can use 2 screwdrivers to trip the switches in front and watch it work with the door open.

    2. What is the actual error code? There are 9 different 13.11 codes. Go into the event log and see what the code is. If it is 13.11.00, does the message say: "Jam inside duplexer" or "Jam inside left door"?

    3. What tray were you printing from? Does it matter if you print from a different tray?

It can be duplex unit, connections to DC controller, DC controller, PIU, fuser, or diverter that can cause these issues.

      Hello again
l.e.f. page stops in duplexer at right hand end, ie lead edge just exiting duplexer another page will be hanging from the duplexer at the left hand side,
sometimes falling between the left lower end cover. It looks like the motor is not reversing at the right time. no damage to paper.I had to leave tonight and couldn't spend any more time . sorry don't have full code, left log at customer's.jam inside duplexer and jam inside left door have both been called.
it doesn't matter which tray is used.
just wanted to be ready for a return visit tomorrow.
.All sensors check ok. Single-sided copies are ok. It's looking like a dc controller type fault.

I think so too. Please post what eventually fixes it.

I have had this problem after replacing fuser. I replaced duplex and still got sam problem. Put old fuser back in and duplexing worked fine. If you have one to bring along it worth a try! Good luck!

It was the dc controller. Thanks for the interest guys.
