    HP 4730 MFP print error

One of our clients has a HP 4730 MFP at the moment and the problem they are getting is, when the document has printed it showing a double print and blur on the paper. I have changed the toner and asked them to re-install the print driver.

    Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks

Go to the Diagnostics menu and print the PQ Troubleshooting pages. This will isolate each color. Additionally, use the corner L's to see which color is drifting out of position. Since you already changed the cartridges we'll go to the next step. This is from the manual.

1.) Perform a calibration. This will be located in the Print Quality menu.
2.) The ETB is not rotating properly. Replace the ETB (transfer belt)
3.) ETB motor gear is damaged. Replace ETB motor.
4.) Drum motor drive gear is damaged. Replace the drum motor drive for the affected color.
5.) The color-registration detection unit is defective. Replace the color registration detection unit.
6.) Laser scanner is defective. Replace the laser/scanner for the affected color. Calibrate the MFP after replacing the laser/scanner.
7.) DC Controller is defective. Replace DC controller. Calibrate the MFP after replacing the DC controller.

Make sure BEFORE you order any parts for this machine you use the Product Code on the printer bar code label. Some different models of these printers use different parts. In addition, there is a 4730 mfp and a CM4730 mfp. Some parts are the same, but some are different.

That could be also. The first thing to do would be to do a print/stop test or a half page test to look at the page before it goes into the fuser. If it's nice and clear the problem is the fuser. If not, see my prior post

Thanks for that, the printer needed calibrating. as we don't work with HP we were a bit stumped. - Thanks
