I have a customer who I service the copier. They have an HP 8000n with a code 57. Can someone tell me what that is and any other info. you think I may need? Oh, how to reset? Thanks.

One of the fans have failed.
the 57 code will have a .1 .2 .3 or .4 after. The number will tell you WHAT fan it is. There are 4 fans. -

And if you tell me what the other # is I can tell you EXACTLY what fan. Or call Parts Now or Liberty and they can tell you. You will need to call them anyway to order the part. I have a parts machine and also can send you the fan if you would like. They are really cheap.

Thanks again. Will see the printer monday. I have been told one can obtain HP service manuals for free online. Found two. One I cannot open
. The other I could open, but did not have this code listed. Am I chasing a never ending problem or is it true about finding service manuals for free? Not sure if we will be servicing HPs just yet, although I think it would be good revenue for our start up business. But in this case, we are trying to help an existing customer. Thank you again for your help.

User manuals are usually free online. Service manuals are not, however there are various sites that sell them for a reasonable price. manuals4you.com is one of them.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".Comment

Feedroller.com has your manual plus many more.
Liberty also has manuals. No charge.
And yes, get into printer repair. It was the best move I made. Used to just service copiers. Now most of my business is printer service.Comment

Sorry to be such a bother. I have the manual from feedroller.com. Page 389 has error code 52.x then the next one is 66.xx.yy. I have searched and cannot find the code for 57.x. Am I doing something wrong? Not sure about Liberty. Could not find it on the web with just Liberty. Again, sorry to be such a bother, and thank you for all you time and help. I just checked. You are right. That code is not in the HP8000 manual. I looked the code up in the HP 5si manual. Same machine. Just a year older. So look at the HP 5si manual. You will find the 57 code. Page 7-52. I think that there must be a misprint in the HP8000 manual. ?? OR did someone put a different cover on that printer so it is not really a HP 8000??
