    HP M4345 scan to folder

Question: normally I will set up a new user account on a PC so that I can set up scan to folder. The needed information is

    WORKGROUP
    path \\hostname\scanfolder
    User
    Password

My question is this: if I have an end user that does not have a username and password set up to log onto his computer what do you do for username and password. Can it be left blank? This is the way a PC is right out of the box.

If I set up a username Scans and password scans then they will have to log on to their computer rather than just booting it up.

Thank you both. The other ongoing challenge is that Windows gives you all CAPS vs at a dos prompt type in hostname and it normally is in lower case.

I always use how it is printed at DOS prompt hostname.

          Start

          Run

          control userpasswords2

Untick the box up the top which says "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" and you will then need to enter in the username and password of the user that needs to auto logon. If the user doesn't have a password, then leave the password field blank.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
