    Issue on a CP1215

    Hi all,
my customer has an HP CP1215 that has a problem on USB port.
I hooked up my pc and the printer doesn't show up.
In my mind the formatter is dead.
    Any ideas?

It's possible, but it could also be your computer's USB port. Try the following:
    1. Try a different port on the same PC
    2. Try a different PC
    3. Try a different USB cable
    4. Try a different Formatter
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

      1. not tried, look down
      2. tested: same issue
      3. tested: same issue
      4. not tried: it's the only printer i have here.
Opened up the printer and check the formatter: the only big IC (a Marvell one) looks ok, but it comes hot when i put in the usb cable. Maybe the connector is broken? I checked with a tester but i'm not sure of the result...
