    HP 4730 scanner problem

The scanner/copier output looks like this:

    while printing is ok:

I tried all calibration procedures and cleaned/inspected optics...
    Everything seems to be ok...

    Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the scanner assy?
Looks to be noise from a poor connection.
Hope you don't have to replace the scanner because if you do you also have to replace the formatter board.

All the connectors \ wiring shields were checked... As far as I know, there were no any replacements of boards or units....
