I would check for toner build up or a nick in plastic in entire paper path. Paper could be hitting and causing it to skew into Fuser but 1 out of 100 is gonna be tricky to troubleshoot. Make sure paper tray guides are nice and set properly.

Where is it crunching at? You should be able to hear that. Is it jamming, or just feeding that out?

          Did you ever resolve this?

I am having the same issue. Have replaced the fuser multiple times - final time with a new and genuine HP fuser. Also tried the Paper Delivery Assembly. Still crinkles pages randomly but seemingly more after it warms up.
