      Try this link:

HP Communities - 5500 ps Boot Failed error: 1f50007 Hard Disk Failu... - Enterprise Business Community

      In particular this post:
I eventually resolved this problem back in Aug 06. Since there wasn't any available help I went with my hunch that the power supply had partially failed casuing the controller failure. When the power supply was installed the problem remained so I ordered the main controller board which then solved the problem so I now have a spare power supply but haven't put it back in the printer. Hope this helps.

      and this post:

Steps to resolve "Error: 1f50007 hard disk failure"

1 - Connect HDD to computer and test it with the western digital test tool (thats the brand HP used for DJ 5000 and 5500), if test fails then replace HDD, if it passes then more lickly you have a bad PWS or Main PCA
2 - Check for wire harness between Main PCA to HDD and PWS to HDD, reseat connections if no wire harness found.
3- If problem continues, check that the Green and Orange LED's on the Main PCA are ON. If they are not ON, probably the PWS or its connections are defective. If the two LED's are ON and the error continues, replace the Main PCA.

      Good Luck!
