Hi guys, One of my users is having an issue with her error light coming on, and the device not being recognized, but there's nothing visibly wrong with the printer itself. It's got toner, there are no jams (as far as I can tell). The only solution I've found so far has been to unplug, and reset the power cable in the rear of the printer. After that the printer works just fine for a while, then the problem starts all over again. I'm not a printer guy so I've only got limited experience here, but any help would be much appreciated.

Need to determine what the error is first; There is a guy named Paul (Manuals for you) who advertises on this site that can sell you a service guide (He's where I get mine) then re-post and let us know and we can help you further.
Good Luck!Izzy -

Re: HP LaserJet P2015 Error Light
Ok, so from what I've discovered it could only be one thing. Error 50007 Engine Error. The formatter and engine are not communicating. One of the solutions from the service manual was to unplug and plug it in again. So far that's the only thing that's worked. The only other error that it could have been was the print cartrigde door is open. The door was not open so that immediately excludes that. Is it actually worth it to buy another formatter or ECU, or should we just purchase another one?Comment

Re: HP LaserJet P2015 Error Light
Is this a networked printer or usb connection? I would remove and reinstall drivers to the latest driver, never from cd. Cold reset and NVram Initialization procedures in the Ser Guide; If it still is having problem I would check to see if it is under warranty and then begin the return process. No I wouldnt change those parts if I was paying for it, I would buy a another printer.
Possible somebody here has seen that problem so you can wait a bit and see what others have on this problem.IzzyComment

Re: HP LaserJet P2015 Error Light
It's a USB connected printer. I'll give installing the newest drivers a try, and NVRAM initialization a go. But it looks like it will be for myseslf now since the powers that be don't want to be waisting man hours on a single printer that can easily be replaced, and decided to purchase a new one instead.
**UPDATE**
I'll just leave it at this so please close this thread.Last edited by gezeo750; 08-15-2012, 12:14 AM.Comment
