Any way for HP CLJ CM3530 to not initialize scanner on each use?

My HP CLJ CM3530 initializes the scanner each time I send a print job or wake it up. Over 95% of the time I use the printer only and am concerned all these wasted scanner initializations are putting needless wear on the scanner. It's my only machine that ever had to initialize the scanner on each wake up, all my others would only initialize it on power up but not on each wake up.

Is there a way to have the scanner initialize only when I specifically use it such as copy/scan/fax jobs?

    Thanks

While I am certain waiting for the scanner initialization can be frustrating, even more so if you are in a hurry, there isn't a whole lot of wear going on there. Those scanner parts only weigh a few ounces after all.

I still find it strange since no other all in one I had behaved this way and with the 500 settings this machine seems to have it's hard to understand that there isn't a "Don't re-initialize scanner on wake up" option.

You might try looking in the Configure Device/Resets menu. I don't know why they put the option to turn off all the power saving options there, it was even a head scratcher for us at first. Still, if you are willing to turn off all power saving options and put up with some extra wear and tear on the machine (it was manufactured with the power saving options being enabled as default), turning off "PowerSave" probably should take care of the scanner initializing issue, and will totally cancel sleep mode as well. Sorry I didn't bring that up the first time, I didn't even think of that then.
