Hp laserjet 2820 calibrating

Hi Have a hp laserjet 2820 I have been asked to look at. If you print 1 copy it is o/k. If you print anymore than 1 page the printing stops and goes into calibrating then it will print the rest of the pages. This happens even if you are printing just black. Can anyone suggest anything check ?

Are all the cover safety switches are OK? Sounds a little like one of them is disengaging for a split second and then the machine thinks it needs to check everything out.

Off the top of my head, you could check to see if there is a newer firmware version. If so, try updating it.
